A painting called ( Guitar and Newspaper ), a painting painted by Juan Gris in 1925

We present to you an overview of the artist of the painting:

Juan Gris, Spanish painter, 1887 - 1927, Madrid, Spain

Unfortunately his life was short. He was famous for his avant-garde style of painting, which was characterized by the use of geometric shapes and bright colors. Grice was particularly interested in Cubism, an artistic style that emphasized the fragmentation of forms.

Gris initially studied mechanical drawing and engineering at the College of Arts and Manufacturing in Madrid where he learned important design principles such as form and proportion. Gris moved to Paris, a hotbed of artistic creativity at the time, and was welcomed into avant-garde circles.

In Paris, Gris followed the example of Metzinger and Pablo Picasso. Grice began drawing seriously in 1911 (when he gave up work as a satirical cartoonist), and at this time developed a personal cubist style. But after 1913 his shift to Synthetic Cubism began, with extensive use of collage. Unlike Picasso and Braque, whose Cubist works were practically monochrome,

Although he was a close friend of artists such as Georges Braque and Pablo Picasso, Gris distinguished himself from them by developing a distinct sense of harmony and order in his art. Gris's work often depicts simple, everyday objects such as bottles, playing cards, and musical instruments, but his use of overlapping planes and shifting destinations created a sense of complexity and dynamism.

Among his most famous works are pieces such as “Violin and Chess Board” and “Still Life with Flowers.” Gris was an influential figure in the development of Cubism and his unique style left an impression on the art world that remains to this day.
