Hermann Steiner 1891 - 1914, was a German expressionist painter and artist.
His father, was a painter and decorative sculptor. He attended the local arts and crafts school and honed his skills by making copies of ancient paintings. He passed the entrance examination to the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich, and was assigned to Heinrich Knerr's painting class.
In 1910, he entered the State Academy of Fine Arts. He was invited to exhibit at the first Expressionist art exhibition in Dresden. That same year, Hölzel was able to secure his position to paint murals in the main lobby of the upcoming Werkbund exhibition, working with Oskar Schlemmer and Willy Baumeister. Response to their work has ranged from enthusiastic praise to outright rejection.
Despite his short working life, he managed to create 280 paintings and more than 1,500 drawings. In March 2016, on the 125th anniversary of his birth, Weber's Villa in Bielefeld officially became the Hermann Steiner House Museum. The core of the collection is presented
