A painting called ( Landscape with a Mill ), a painting painted by Barend Cornelis Kokok
We present to you an overview of the artist of the painting:
Barend Cornelis Kokok 1803-1862
Barend grew up in an artistic environment where his father was a famous Dutch marine painter, from whom he received his first education and became known during his life as the "Prince of Landscape Painting". His brothers were successful artists, the first as a painter of marine subjects and river scenes, the second as a landscape painter.
Barend Kokok was a well-regarded landscape designer of his time and is considered the founding father of Dutch Romantic landscape painting. He received endless awards and honors, and his clients included King Friedrich Wilhelm IV of Prussia, Tsar Alexander II, and King Willem II of the Netherlands.
He focused on broad, wooded landscapes of summer and winter, a theme that had been subtracted from the Four Seasons series. He solidified his decision with a two-year stay in the rural areas of Hilversum which included a colony of landscape and livestock painters. His landscapes of the countryside surrounding Hilversum were received favorably. In 1829, the Amsterdam Society awarded Felix Meritis a gold medal for one of Kukuk's summer landscapes.
